A Word Picture of a "Normal" Human Being - Version 1
It's very hard for us to picture what a normal human being would be like, normal in the sense that Gurdjieff uses the term. That is to say, someone who reaches responsible age in possession of their own "I", their centers balanced and integrated, and with a healthy personality submitted to a mature essence. Nevertheless we can struggle toward developing such a picture, and that struggle is certainly worth the effort.
Our first attempt at such a picture, created in the first session of the new Phase 1 group, is shown below. The arrows show the natural impulse to start moving beyond the monad to a dyad.
